Until recently Rachelle Porter was a 28 year old new mother dedicated to her career as a Broward County elementary school teacher. Her days were filled with inspiring young students and doting on her fiancé, Marc, and their one year old son, Caedin. In July 2009, after surgery to remove a tumor on her brain, the biopsy revealed that Rachelle has Gioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). This is an extremely aggressive form of brain cancer that requires a regimen of daily chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
She has now been catapulted into a new reality. Her days are consumed with doctor appointments, chemotherapy, radiation and unfortunately fighting the insurance companies to receive coverage for her treatments. The costs of these treatments are astronomical. What the insurance companies do not cover will leave Rachelle and her family in insurmountable debt. Please help us by donating financially and/ or playing in our tournament to help Rachelle fight this cancer. See her inspiring story as she chronicles her brave journey at:
